What is Coaching?
Coaching is unlocking a person’s potential to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn and grow.
The coach helps the client to achieve their personal best and to produce the results they want in their personal and professional lives. Coaching ensures the client can give their best, learn and develop in the way they wish.
The essence of coaching is:
- To help a person change in the way they wish and helping them go in the direction they want to go.
- Coaching supports a person at every level in becoming who they want to be.
- Coaching builds awareness, empowers choice and leads to change.
Coaching deals with the client’s mental growth. The coach need not be an expert in their clients’ field of work. Instead they utilise specialised skills to encourage the client to explore opportunities for learning and growth that will enable them to attain their goals. .
Usually, as part of this process, they identify their personal strengths, relevant skills and experience and set short and long term goals. They consider the pathway and any learning required to fulfil their aspirations. The client is accountable for their progress and outcomes. The coach checks-in, questions progress and learning, clarifies the direction adopted or queries any deviations, while assisting to holds the client to account along the way.
Coaching facilitates an individual’s positive change and growth and is a highly rewarding partnership!
Who is coaching for?
Caroline provides coaching for people at all stages of life. As an Applied Positive Psychology Coach, Trauma Therapy counsellor and experienced Teacher, she can offer a wide range of tools to support and empower each individual to set and achieve their goals.
Coaches offer clients a supportive and motivating environment to explore what they want in life and how they might achieve their aspirations and fulfil their needs. The coach’s key role is often assisting the client to maintain the motivation and commitment needed to achieve their goals.

Caroline assists the client in committing to action and by being a sounding-board to their experience, she allows the individual the personal space and support they need to grow and develop. She helps clients maintain focus, set and complete achievable goals and be accountable.

Session duration and frequency
Most coaches and clients prefer 60 minute sessions. This allows enough time to discuss a topic in depth or cover a few topics more briefly. One hour sessions allow time for extras, like celebrating victories, asking quick questions, and setting intentions for the coming weeks. 90 minutes allows time when a new direction or stumbling points need deeper discussion.
Coaching is not covered by Medicare rebates for clients on Mental Health Care Plans.
Coaching is not claimable on Private Health Insurance.
